New public charter school coming to Prattville—Ivy Classical Academy

When school starts for the fall 2024 semester, Elmore County and beyond will have a new, unique option for elementary school education—Ivy Classical Academy. Keep reading for all the details on this public charter school.
Ivy Classical Academy
As one of 25 member schools partnered with Hillsdale College, Ivy Classical Academy is a tuition-free school providing classical liberal arts education. At first, the academy will offer kindergarten-5th grade education, adding a grade each year until all it’s a full K-12 school.
Ivy Classical Academy articulates their mission as follows:
“The mission of Ivy Classical Academy is to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a content-rich classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue.”
In August, Ivy Classical Academy will welcome 642 student for their first semester. Students will take classes such as classical children’s literature, phonics, Latin, music appreciation, math and much more.

Where Ivy Classical Academy is located
The new charter school is located in Prattville’s High Point Town Center and features 120,000 square feet for elementary and middle school classrooms, a multi-purpose room, media center, music room and art room.
Ivy Classical Academy is currently accepting enrollment applications for the 2024-2025 school year.
