New restaurant coming to downtown Anniston—Lulu’s Place

Coastal cuisine with a Southern influence is coming to downtown Anniston, Alabama. This locally-owned spot will complement the 1891-built Lulu’s Bed and Breakfast and will welcome guests very soon. Here’s what you need to know.

Lulu’s Place will bring coastal cuisine to Anniston

As reported by the Calhoun County Insight, Lulu’s Place will be a Southern-influenced eatery focusing on high-quality steaks and seafood. Serving up an upscale menu in a casual atmosphere (including rustic decor + a terrace), this spot will bring a lot to the table in downtown Anniston.

Here are some of the items you can expect to see on the menu at Lulu’s Place:

  • Fish (like halibut, salmon + a daily catch)
  • Seafood (like scallops, raw oyster + calamari)
  • Meat (like steaks, pork chops + lamb)
  • Southern sides (like fried green tomatoes…enough said)
  • Desserts (like banana pudding + cobblers using seasonal fruit)

Plus, Lulu’s Place will be a great place to grab a drink, offering wine, beer and cocktails.

The culinary genius will come from Executive Chef Theorun Anderson and Sous Chef Blake Owens. Chef Anderson is originally from Birmingham and was Chef at the ever-popular Carrigan’s Public House there.

Front-of-house manager Jared Tucker told Calhoun County Insight that they intend to also host Sunday brunch in the future, and they even have an idea to initiate a “Brunch Crawl” in downtown Anniston.

Needless to say, this new spot is going to add even more flavor to downtown Anniston’s food scene.

When + where you can find Lulu’s Place

According to the Calhoun County Insight, we won’t have to wait too long for Lulu’s Place to open.
