Tuscaloosa on top

According to Travel + Leisure, there are nearly 4,000 degree-granting postsecondary schools in the nation spread across every major city and plenty of small towns. That’s a lot to choose from!
Luckily, we’ve got one of the best college cities in the country right here in Alabama—Tuscaloosa! As a University of Alabama alum, I have to agree.
When you think of Tuscaloosa, you think of exhilarating game days, a lush green campus and a quaint downtown scene. Sounds like a top-notch college town to me. Here’s why Travel + Leisure agrees:
“As the home of the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa is an obvious place to add to this list. With more than 38,000 students, the University really is the center of life here, and its sports teams make for excellent game-day outings.”
