A Leesburg-based restaurant known for its views of the Coosa River and Weiss Lake has created a new way to bring dessert to customers.
Decks & Docks Restaurant introduced its “Weiss Cream Boat” earlier this month, bringing a floating ice cream service to Alabama waterways.
“Seeing kids jump up and down when they see and hear us coming has been one of the most rewarding experiences. This brings back memories of everyone’s childhood.”

The ice cream boat will serve different areas every weekend. According to social media posts, the boat has already been to both sides of the Highway 411 bridge including areas like Yellow Creek and Slackland Beach Park.
