Nick Saban, Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent
It seems being the best coach in college football history wasn’t enough for Nick Saban to rest on his laurels.
Tuesday night, Saban added to his trophy case, taking home his first Emmy.
After winning six national championships as head coach of the Crimson Tide, Saban moved on to a new role—an analyst on ESPN’s College Gameday.
“I guess the way I could explain it, when you’re coaching a team, you look at everything through a straw. This is giving me an opportunity to look at college football in general from 1,000 feet… it’s been kind of fun to get a view of college football in a broader sense.”

Charles Barkley, Outstanding Personality/Studio Analyst
The former Auburn star racked up accolades of his own during his playing days but he may be creating more of a legacy as a broadcaster.
To no surprise, Barkley grabbed his sixth individual Emmy for his role on Inside the NBA on TNT. During his time, the show won 19 total Emmy awards.
Despite his success, Barkley and the postgame studio show are leaving TNT after a very public feud over contracts.
Rickwood Field: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues, Outstanding Live Special — Non-Championship Event
One of the biggest events in the state of Alabama last year was Major League Baseball’s return to Rickwood Field in Birmingham.
The event gained national attention and coverage from FOX was recognized Tuesday night.
The network’s coverage from Rickwood Field was awarded the Outstanding Live Special Emmy for a non-championship event.
