Spanning two months of renovation work, the initiative invested approximately $100,000 into the park’s revitalization. City officials, families and Terry Saban were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 20.
“You get the children away from the TV, from their phones… you get them out here for exercise in the fresh air. And they learn to socialize. They learn to problem-solve. They learn to share.”

Beyond the playground’s bright new play structures, crews tackled tree‑stump removal, resurfaced the walking track, installed a scenic gazebo, and spruced the landscaping throughout the grounds.
The Civitan Park playground marks the fourth playground funded by the Nick’s Kids Foundation, with many future community projects to come.

These enhancements not only bring fresh, safe recreation for kids but also reaffirm Civitan Park’s role as a central hub for neighborhood connection. With the improved park renovations, parents can stroll and supervise while children engage in active play.
The Nick’s Kids Playground is open daily to the public, offering families in Northport a fresh venue for fun, interaction, and healthy activity. For families seeking a place to unwind this summer, Civitan Park’s upgrades offer the perfect spot.
