Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 7, a new state-of-the-art playground is now open at Pratt Park in Prattville. The City of Prattville’s Parks and Recreation Department came together with residents who were eager to try out the fun new playground.

The new all-inclusive play area is the first Game Time “Stadium Playground” constructed in Alabama. It’s replacing a previous playground that had an aging structure and is more accessible for children with all abilities.

This playground is accessible to all, with an ADA-accessible ramp that connects to the Music Nest. Plus, the surfacing at the main play area and preschool area is a universally accessible poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing that allows both children and adults access to the play equipment.

With two areas for different ages (2-5 and 5-12) parents can rest assured that small children have their own area to enjoy, while the older kids have fun at their own play structure without worry.

For those little ones that need to get some energy out, this new playground is the perfect spot—with a complete obstacle course experience in a compact design.

Plus, the new play area comes complete with tons of features to keep kids playing for hours:

  • 10 unique challenges to explore
  • a Music Nest, including several types of interactive musical elements
  • multiple slides

The placement of the equipment was carefully thought out to minimize blind spots and maintain a line-of-sight throughout the entire playground.
