It’s the most wonderful for time of the year for a lot of Alabamians—college football kickoff. Just in time for the big day, Baumhowers has opened its 10th Alabama location in Troy. Here’s what you need to know.

The new Baumhhowers in Troy

Baumhowers has been serving up its famous wings for over 40 years in Alabama, their flagship location opening in 1981 in Tuscaloosa. Named after All-American Crimson Tide football player and owner Bob Baumhower, the wings spot quickly became a go-to for football fans to get their game day food fix while cheering on their teams.

Baumhowers Victory Grille has now opened 10 locations all across Alabama—from Huntsville to Mobile. The latest location in Troy will be followed by yet another location in Foley, coming soon.

But back to Troy. This new Baumhowers location is special to the community.

“This was in interesting project for our City. Bob Baumhower approached us over two years ago. At the time, his son was a Troy University football player and Mr. Baumhower noticed our town didn’t have a large sports bar.”

Stephanie Baker, Troy City Council

Fast forward to August 2023, and the vision has come to life.

“It is wonderful to have an additional restaurant option that brings together college students, families, retirees and young professionals of all kinds together for good food and to cheer on our Trojans, and any other team that may be on the screens.

Here’s where you can find the new Baumhowers in Troy.

Baumhowers has partnered with Troy Athletics

Baumhowers has a long history of being associated with sports. After all, they’re the “Victory Grille” with a herd of football players in the logo.

They’re carrying on that tradition at the new location in Troy, partnering with Troy Athletics. The new Baumhowers will serve as:

  • The host site of Trojan Talk
  • Official watch party venue of the Trojans

To make it an ideal football-watching location, the new Baumhowers will have over 60 TVs, a full bar and a patio (according to a release from the Troy Trojans). Bob Baumhower himself is excited about this one.

“In the last couple of years, we’ve gotten to know Troy on a much closer level, and the more time we spent in Troy, the more we got to love the people and the University.

We are excited to be part of the growth and the great things happening in Troy and cannot wait to serve the people in the community.”
