Orange Beach High School fielded their first athletic teams in 2020. And just five years later, the school has a brand new, state-of-the-art facility for their athletes.

The city officially unveiled the $46.1 million athletic complex with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday + an open house event Friday.

Student-athletes and staff will now have direct access to:

3,500-seat stadium with LED lighting + jumbotron
1,200-seat gymnasium
Kinesiology + Exercise Science Building
8-lane track
Multipurpose pavilion with covered practice field

Construction on the project started in November 2023.

The football stadium has been in use since August with the Makos football team already playing three games at home with two more to go.

The rest of the facilities are now officially open with Orange Beach mayor Tony Kennon cutting the ribbon Wednesday morning. The gym drew its first crowd Wednesday night as the Orange Beach volleyball team clinched the area championship.

The Kinesiology and Exercise Science building sits in between the football stadium and the new pavilion. It includes weight rooms for all student-athletes an 80-seat theater-style space that can be used as classrooms.
