OUT NOW: Bama-themed brews have arrived, just in time for kickoff
Reading time: 2 minutes
The college football season begins this week and Alabama fans have a new way to show their team spirit—a beer can.
Crimson Tide themed beer cans are among 26 college football team beers released by Bud Light for the 2024 season. They’re on store shelves now—and we have the details.
Gameday brews
Of the total 26 college football teams included in the Bud Light limited edition team cans, three SEC teams were represented—LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M.
Alabama’s design features the iconic crimson color, paired with an Alabama “A” on the side of the box.
The cans are already in stores across the U.S. My local Winn-Dixie had them, despite downsizing stock as the store prepares to close and become an Aldi.
Collaboration with comedian Shane Gillis
Bud Light parent company Anhueser-Busch announced the return of collegiate-colored-cans with a new ad featuring comedian Shane Gillis.
In the ad, Gillis plays as a head football coach whose player is in trouble with the Dean for plagiarism. The Dean tries to get the player to confess by tempting him with an ice-cold Bud Light, prompting the school officials in the room to confess to a variety of hilarious antics from faking a British accent to a deep held fear of horses.
Ultimately, the football player gets off scott-free and the school officials enjoy a cold brewskie—everybody wins.
The ad, titled “The Dean’s Room” is set to make comeback appearances throughout football season—creating a mini series between gameday plays.
