Pepsi opens new distribution center in Crenshaw County
Reading time: 3 minutes

Luverne has been home to Pepsi-Cola for over a century. And while the bottling company may be leaving its historic building, it won’t be leaving Crenshaw County.
Community leaders were joined by Gov. Kay Ivey on Tuesday as Pepsi officially celebrated the opening of its new distribution center in Luverne.
“It is always good when a good corporate citizen like Pepsi gets some much deserved recognition. They support all our schools and many civic organizations and events. We are so proud we were able to assist them with their facility and hopefully keep them in Luverne for a very long time. I have a few pictures of the event I will post. I will post some additional pictures and hopefully some audio when it becomes available.”

Pepsi Luverne

It’s hard to find many buildings in Luverne without a Pepsi sign hanging in the window or on the walls.
The company first moved to town in 1915, joining forces with an already established bottling company and facility. Since then, the plant has been locally owned and operated.
The historic bottling plant, located at 638 Forest Avenue, was just 40,000 square feet and the company had long outgrown the facility.
In 2022, the state provided a $500,000 grant to help Pepsi move into a larger facility while staying in Luverne. The new distribution center is 75,000 square feet and will allow the company to retain its 79 jobs while adding at least 10 more.
The new facility is located just off Highway 331 in Luverne.
