Perdido River Meats is a division of Perdido River Farms, which manages about 2,900 acres of Tribal agricultural properties.

The farm builds on its Tribal traditions by taking special care of the permanent grass, hay lands and row crop land. In addition to healthier farming practices, Perdido River Farms hosts youth events such as the Escambia County Youth Livestock Association Steer & Heifer Show and the Alabama South District FFA Fall Eliminations.

Last Thursday, they unveiled their biggest project yet: the Perdido River Meats facility. The 23,000 square foot will harvest around 50 head of cattle each week, which will increase demand and supply more meat to local farmers.

“The opening of this new processing facility will not only help address food supply chain issues but also greatly benefit Alabama cattle producers, who have expressed the need for additional processing facilities in our area.”

Alabama Agriculture and Industries Commissioner Rick Pate

The meat processing facility also has a retail store for anyone wanting a wide variety of freshly-cut meats.
