PNC Bank released the following statement to The Bama Buzz about the closures.
“PNC recognizes that branches play a key role in how we provide solutions to our clients alongside our other channels. That’s why we continually study customer and prospect transaction patterns to determine how we can most effectively meet the needs of our communities. As a result, we have made significant investments in our PNC branch footprint over the past five years and continue building new branches and renovating existing locations. At the same time, we also make decisions to close branches as customer needs evolve.”

PNC continues to evolve
PNC Bank continues to consolidate in Alabama, especially in Birmingham, since it was purchased of BBVA USA Bancshares, Inc. and its U.S. banking subsidiary, BBVA USA, in late 2020.
This fall, the company sold the 19-story Daniel Building, one of the tallest buildings in the Magic City, to UAB for $16 million.
