Popular Orange Beach seafood spot announces closure after 28 years

It’s a sad day for people who love their Alabama seafood with a side of nostalgia.

Bubba’s Seafood House, which first opened in 1997, has closed its doors after nearly three decades of serving seafood in Orange Beach.

The restaurant posted a short statement to social media on April 2.

“To all our valued guests, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Bubba’s Seafood House in Orange Beach, AL, effective April 1, 2025. We thank you for your many years of support and delicious memories! Bubba sez ‘Thank you & farewell!'”

The public quickly flooded to the comments, posting about their fond memories of meeting friends at the restaurant + why the spot became a must-visit on every trip to the beach.

The restaurant said it will soon share more details about selling off decor, retail items and restaurant equipment. Make sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates!
