Aerospace firm PPG announces new $70 million expansion in Huntsville

PPG Industries announced a $70 million investment to expand its aerospace transparencies operations in Huntsville. The announcement was made Wednesday, October 7, and includes the construction of a new 112,000-square-foot building.
The investment is part of a series of multi-year projects from the global company.

New PPG facility to expand Huntsville operations

The $70 million expansion includes the lease and build-out of a new facility that will house production support functions, enabling additional manufacturing space at PPG’s existing aerospace transparencies facility at 1719 US-72.
The ongoing projects enhance the company’s ability to meet growing customer demand for aircraft cockpit windows and passenger windows while positioning the site for future growth.
PPG Industries specializes in paints, coatings and specialty materials, serving diverse markets including aerospace, automotive, construction and industrial sectors. The company has operated its aerospace transparencies manufacturing facility in Huntsville for more than 55 years.
