Rare March snow covers northern half of Alabama

From 80 degree heat to snow on the ground.

That’s just what can happen over a 48-hour span when you’re in Alabama.

Snow started falling this morning as temperatures plummeted after some severe storms overnight. The wintry mix swept across the northern half of the state throughout the morning with some places seeing the snow accumulate on the ground.

It may not be at the levels of the Blizzard of 1993 but any snow in March is certainly a special occasion.
