Red Clay Brewing Company, a staple in the Opelika community for the last decade, announced it will be closing its doors for the final time this March.

The brewery has been located just off the railroad tracks in downtown Opelika next to John Emerald Distillery. It’s home to several popular beers like Halftime Hefeweizen, Murder Creek Cherry Cider and Sweet Potato Brown Ale.

“For the past decade, Red Clay has been more than just a taproom; it has been a front-row seat to the growth of our incredible community. It has been an absolute honor to serve you, to celebrate your milestones, and to be a part of the fabric of downtown Opelika.

“While we wish we could keep the taps flowing indefinitely, we are choosing to focus on the gratitude we feel for this “adventure of a lifetime.” As we transition into new ways of supporting the community we love, please know that the Red Clay spirit isn’t going anywhere—it’s just changing shape.”
