Rushing on The Plains: Auburn University’s 2025 Bid Day
Reading time: 3 minutes

On Saturday—just two days before classes officially began at Auburn University—the excitement of this year’s rush festivities reached its much-anticipated grand finale, Bid Day.
A record-breaking 2,153 potential new members (PNMs) “ran home” to one of the 18 sorority chapters associated with Auburn University’s Panhellenic Council.

Bid Day on The Plains
The day was a long and hot one, with active member pictures beginning as early as 10:45AM.
Around 2PM, the throng of parents surrounding Neville Arena heard the yells of PNMs from inside the building. Within the arena, PNMs had opened the envelopes containing their bids.
Shortly thereafter, each sorority chapter was announced as their new members ran from Neville’s back entrance. Aubie was present to direct the eager runners toward The Village’s entrance, where their new sisters were congregated.
Upon reaching the area in which their chapter had assembled, new members met old—with new members having been assigned a “big sister” that decorated younger sisters with glitter and chapter t-shirts.
