SEC Network to showcase the Shoals on TrueSouth’s new season

SEC Network’s Emmy Award-winning series “TrueSouth” returns for Season 9 next month and the first episode will be right here in Alabama.
The show has spent years highlighting Southern food and culture across SEC country. It’s hosted by 4-time James Beard Award winner John Edge.
This season will be driven by local music so it’s no surprise to see the Shoals kick off the new season. Keep reading to learn more.
How to watch The Shoals episode on SEC Network
The Season 9 premiere will be completely focused on the Shoals region including:
- Florence
- Tuscumbia
- Sheffield
- Muscle Shoals
“Power generated by Wilson Dam, which now spans that river, drove the rise of tee-shirt manufacturing in the Shoals. Trowbridge’s Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop, founded in 1918, the same year construction on that dam began, is Florence’s flagship. Over in Sheffield, at George’s Steak Pit, Elaine Goodlowe has stood tall by that hickory-fueled pit for more than 40 years. In the Shoals, those story threads knit people and places together.”

TrueSouth Season 9
The “TrueSouth” crew traveled to four states for the upcoming season, making stops in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and Louisiana. The show will tell stories inspired by the beliefs and hard work of crawfish cooks and duck hunters, lumpia cooks and t-shirt makers.
Season 9’s episodes will air biweekly on SEC Network, with all new episodes on demand on SEC Network+ and the ESPN App immediately upon airing.
