Several exciting projects in Decatur, including the Highway 20 Overpass

Several exciting developments are underway in The River City, including the new Highway 20 Overpass and so much more. Keep reading for all the details!

1. Alabama Highway 20 Overpass ($18.4M)

Funded by a $14.2 million BUILD grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation along with funds from the City of Decatur, the Highway 20 Overpass project officially began in March. Once complete, the 300-foot overpass will stretch over Highway 20, near I-65 and I-565 interchange in Decatur.

City officials hope that the project will encourage economic interest in the area, with new mixed-use developments in the works.

2. New Distribution Center ($14.8M)

Graham & Company, a Birmingham-based commercial real estate firm, is currently developing a new distribution facility along Bibb Garret Road, just a short drive from the upcoming Highway 20 Overpass. As it’s located near to the I-65 and I-565 interchange, the distribution facility will be perfect for companies in need of interstate access. In addition, the facility offers:

• 305,760 square-feet of space
• 70+ dock doors to park a trailer
• 135-foot truck apron
• Drive-in ramps available as needed per tenant

Graham & Company plans to have the distribution center finished by January 2022.
