Siemens Energy expanding Alabama production as part of $1 billion investment

Siemens Energy has released plans for a $1 billion investment plan across the country including a major expansion at its facility in north Alabama.

The company said it is expanding production of copper and insulation electrical components for generators at its Fort Payne location, creating 120 new jobs for the area.

“The selection of Fort Payne as a place to grow demonstrates that our community is open for business and that our workforce is ready to meet the demands of our nation’s growing energy sector. This is a great day for Fort Payne, and we look forward to working with plant leaders as we celebrate today’s announcement.”

The facility is located on Briarwood Avenue and can be seen from Interstate 59.

Siemens Energy

The company is investing $1 billion to ramp-up manufacturing in the United States, resulting in significantly expanding its workforce.

“The United States is experiencing an unparalleled surge in electricity demand. The country is rapidly expanding data centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure and next generation industrial electrification. Meeting this growth requires the accelerated deployment of modern, resilient grid infrastructure and a substantial increase in power generation capacity – ambitions to which Siemens Energy will make a significant contribution.”

The program will include several brownfield expansions, increasing transformer production and servicing plus strengthening the manufacturing of large gas turbines on American soil. It also includes construction of a brand-new factory in Mississippi that will build essential grid components.

Across the country, Siemens Energy will create more than 1,500 highly skilled roles in manufacturing, operations and engineering to help deliver more power to more people throughout the country.
