StubHub: Alabama #1 and Auburn #7 most in-demand college football teams in the U.S.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is the 2023 most in-demand college football team according to StubHub, the ticket marketplace outlet.

The company annually analyzes football programs via ticket trends to reveal a list of the following:

• Top in-demand college football programs
• Most popular game during the 2023 season
• Hottest trending teams

The Tide tops the list

For the third time Alabama has claimed StubHub’s most in-demand college football program crown. In-state rival Auburn cracked the top ten on the list coming in at number seven. 

Four of the first seven positions are SEC schools with Georgia and Tennessee coming in 5th and 6th respectively.  Two surprising omissions on the most in-demand list — traditional powerhouses LSU and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Trendiest college football team in America—Colorado

The trendiest team according to StubHub is the Coach Deion Sanders-led Colorado Buffaloes. Interest in the Buffs, who were 1-11 last year, has jumped 1668%. 

Auburn, who did not go to a bowl game in 2022, has shown a 102% increase in interest, thanks to the hiring of Coach Hugh Freeze. 

Even though they topped the most in-demand program, interest in the Crimson Tide has grown 58% in 2023, landing the program 10th in the category.

Must-see 2023 college football games 

In the most popular games category there is somewhat of an upset. SEC fans have all circled the early season rematch at Bryant-Denny Stadium between Alabama and the Texas Longhorns. The big game came in third.

Ohio State taking on  Notre Dame in September and then at Michigan in the “Big House” are ranked #1 and #2.

Have no fear Bama—along with the big game against the Longhorns, the StubHub folks ranked the revenge match-up against Tennessee the eighth fiercest game in the nation for 2023. Alabama versus Ole Miss ranked 9th.
