Taco Casa—a “Tuscaloosa Original” quick service Mexican restaurant—is looking for individuals who want to open a franchise in the Huntsville, Montgomery and Mobile metropolitan areas.

7 Taco Casa Locations & Growing

Home to six locations in Tuscaloosa County and one in Homewood, Taco Casa recently announced its intention to expand and franchise.

“We have been contacted for years about expanding throughout the state of Alabama and are excited to work with local franchisees to grow our brand in these dynamic communities,” said a company spokesperson. “We believe that our quality food and great customer service, combined with the entrepreneurial spirit of these Alabama metropolitan areas, will create a winning combination.”

Founded in 1974

Rod Wilkin, the founder of Taco Casa, opened his first restaurant in Tuscaloosa 49 years ago in 1974 at just 25 years old. A former player under Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant at the University of Alabama, Wilkin’s unique brand of tacos made Taco Casa a fan-favorite among Tuscaloosa residents.

According to Taco Casa, a franchisee will receive extensive training and support including:

  • Site selection
  • Construction guidance
  • Marketing
  • Ongoing operations support

The brand offers a proven business model, a loyal customer base and a commitment to quality ingredients and recipes.
