Teddy Bear Toss season is underway in Alabama

The Huntsville Havoc professional hockey team officially kicked off Teddy Bear Toss season in Alabama on Thanksgiving Day last week, when fans threw a whooping 1600+ stuffed animals onto the Propst Arena ice rink. 

The Havoc’s successful Teddy Bear Toss, which benefited the local Toys for Tots program, is one of six opportunities fans of professional and college sports teams in Alabama will have to make a child’s life brighter this holiday season.

UNA Basketball Teddy Bear Toss – Nov. 30

The University of North Alabama’s men’s basketball team is asking fans to bring new unwrapped teddy bears and stuffed animals (how about a lion!), to toss on the court at halftime during its Thursday, November 30th game against Tennessee Tech.

The stuffed animals will support Bank Independent’s annual Toy Share Drive.

Tip-off is at 7:00PM.

UAB Basketball Teddy Bear Toss – Dec. 1

Tossing teddy bears onto the court at Bartow Arena during halftime festivities has become an annual tradition at UAB. The stuffed animals benefit the UAB IT’s toy drive. 

This year’s event is during the December 1st game against Southern Miss. Tip-off is at 7:00PM. 

One extra incentive. The ticket is $10 when you bring a new toy or stuffed animal.

Birmingham Bulls Superman Night and Teddy Bear Toss – Dec. 8

A Birmingham Bulls annual Christmas tradition, fans toss their stuffed animal when the Bulls score their first goal. The stuffed animals are donated to the Salvation Army.

This year there is also a special pre-game meet & greet with Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton.

Another Bonus: The December 8th game is against cross-state rival Huntsville Havoc. Can the Bulls fans surpass the Havocs’ 1600+ stuffed animal haul? Stay tuned.

University of Alabama Women’s Basketball – Dec. 10

Bring a Teddy Bear and get an “ugly” Christmas sweater! That’s what the Crimson Tide’s athletic Department is offering the first 100 fans who bring a stuffed animal to the Alabama v. Samford Women’s basketball game on December 10th.

Birmingham Squadron – Holiday Celebration & Teddy Bear Toss – Dec. 11

NEW to The Bama Buzz – we learned from the Birmingham Squadron that they will be holding a Teddy Bear Toss during their Holiday Celebration game on December 11th at Legacy Arena against the Memphis Hustle. A couple of neat promotions:
