Do you love to explore nature and have a competitive spirit? Did you ever want a do-over of your childhood summer camp? The Alabama Beta is the perfect opportunity for you. Read on to learn more about this event and how you can leave as a winner. 

About The Alabama Beta and Coosa Riverkeeper

Hosted by Greater Gadsden Tourism, The Alabama Beta is a celebration of adventure, community and conservation. The weekend-long event and benefits the Coosa Riverkeeper, a nonprofit organization that protects the state’s Coosa River—currently the 5th most endangered river in the United States.

The Alabama Beta is set up as a race between teams who have to complete outdoor objectives across Central and Eastern Alabama, such as: 

  • Boating
  • Climbing
  • Hiking
  • Paddling
  • And more!

Individuals interested in participating can make teams with 3-5 members. The goal is to complete as many outdoor activities as possible to earn points to win one-of-kind prizes. Everyone can participate no matter age or level of outdoor experience.

Attending the event? The Coosa Riverkeeper suggests you pack necessities like: 

  • Bug Spray
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Food/Snacks
  • First Aid Kit
  • Sunscreen
  • Water

Tickets

Tickets cost $55 and include: 

  • A t-shirt, patch and other gear 
  • Camping and dinner at Rock Cherokee Village
