Are you a coffee enthusiast who loves trying new brews?

The Auburn-Opelika Coffee Trail, established in August 2024, features 16 coffee shops and is a great way to explore the community’s coffee scene.

Read on to see which shops are included + our recommendations from each!

How it works

  1. Pick up a stamp book at any of the participating coffee shops
  2. Visit each stop and order anything
  3. Show the barista your book to receive a stamp
  4. Repeat steps 2 + 3 until you’ve collected all 16 stamps
  5. The trail has been completed; you can pick up your prize at your final stop

The Bean

This retro themed coffee shop is known for their ample seating and delicious cinnamon rolls.

They also host benefit nights, private events and offer catering and delivery.

Side Track

Side Track is a popular pick for Auburn students—not only for its friendly atmosphere, but also because the shop is pay-what-you-can!

Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers

If you’re looking to pair your coffee with a good book, Auburn Oil Co. is a stop you’ll want to make.

Ross House Coffee

This coffee shop is not far from Auburn University’s campus, making it a popular study spot.

Coffee Mafia

Coffee Mafia is known for its welcoming staff and collection of local art for purchase.

In addition to receiving a stamp, make sure to pick up one of their loyalty cards to get a free drink after 10 purchases.

Well Red

Well Red is loved by locals for its book selection, event hosting and late hours.

The Fox

Located where Coffee Cat once was in Downtown Auburn, this is an amazing spot to fuel up on caffeine and dessert while chatting with friends.

Bitty & Beau’s

Established in 2016 by the Wright family, this shop has the mission of advocating for people with disabilities by creating a space for them to work.

The Auburn location was established in 2022 and has been an inclusive, welcoming environment for the community. 

Our rec: Chocolate Strawberry Mocha

One Bike Coffee

One Bike Coffee donates 100% of their profits to charities like the One Bike Foundation, which partners with James Bros Bikes to provide community members living with Multiple Sclerosis a bike and gear.

Their Hamilton Place location features a drive-thru, making it easy to grab coffee on the go.

Thrive Here @ Auburn

Thrive, an education roastery and coffee bar, is located within Auburn University’s Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center. The baristas spin records while making delicious teas and coffees.

Market Street Coffee Shop

This shop roasts their own coffee and makes their own syrups (like their Mexican Vanilla syrup) in-house. The back room occasionally has an art gallery and is always open as a quiet work area. 

Our rec: Strawberry Pink Drink

Ristretto Lounge

Located just a few minutes from Tiger Town, Ristretto Lounge is a minimalistic space with lots of indoor seating and a back porch. Their menu features several Korean-inspired menu items, like their Bingsu shaved ice and Ube Latte. 

Our rec: Hot matcha with oat milk + lavender or heavy bacon omelet

The Coffee Shop

This coffee shop in Downtown Opelika has lots of cozy seating options, including a velvet couch by the fireplace and two private seating rooms by the front windows. They also host comedy and poetry nights.

The Market at Botanic

Botanic, home to an upscale restaurant, greenhouse, gift shop and coffee shop, is one of the most scenic (and picture-worthy) places in the Auburn-Opelika area.

Their market has a wide variety of great bites and specialty coffees to try while walking through their greenhouse.

The Well

This tea house features a wide selection of tea, coffee and craft experiences you can book.

They also support small, women-owned businesses!

Corner Office

Brought to Auburn by the owners of The Hound and The Depot, this shop has a wide selection of food options.

Corner Office proudly serves locally produced products from partners including Mama Mocha’s, Extreme Green Farms, Stinson Breads and McEwen & Sons.
