We are still a week away from Alabama hosting Georgia but the excitement has already taken over Tuscaloosa, the state and the rest of the college football world.

In what might be the most-anticipated regular season game since the Crimson Tide hosted LSU in 2011—a game dubbed as the Game of the Century—Alabama and Georgia will meet at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The hype for this one may surpass that game and it might even include a visit from a former president.

Keep reading to find out how that hype is impacting everything from ticket costs, hotel bookings + traffic flow.

Ticket resale value

This game has been a sell out since before the season began. It was already assigned to the primetime game on ABC when the schedules were released.

But for those that didn’t get a ticket right away, the resale market is likely going to be the only chance to get inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. And those tickets will not be cheap.

Here’s a look at the cheapest and most expensive tickets across different sites as of Sept. 20:

According to SeatGeek, the average price for a single ticket in the upper deck is just over $450. In comparison, the average price for a single upper deck ticket to Alabama’s next home game against South Carolina is currently just over $200.

Lodging and travel

Many hotels are already completely booked in and around Tuscaloosa but there are still some options available for anyone looking to make a last-minute trip to the game.

However, many of those hotels have put notices about limited room availability, according to the travel site Expedia. The average price to stay at a hotel Saturday night within Tuscaloosa city limits is currently $763. There are also still options available along Interstate 20 between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

According to the AirBnB website, there are 19 rental properties still available in Tuscaloosa County. Many of them are multiple bedrooms and the average price for booking the night of Sept. 28 is currently $1,450.

For travel time, anyone going to Tuscaloosa should expect plenty of traffic on the road on gameday. Activities will begin early Saturday morning so expect delays between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa to last all day. Make sure you have a full tank of gas too!
