Tucked away in Mentone is a quaint café that is garnering some attention. The Wildflower Café was named one of the best small-town restaurants in the US by Taste of Home magazine. Read on for the details and a peek at what makes it so special.
A unique spot to eat
Sometimes, the best spots to eat aren’t the ones that are on everyone’s radar. The Community Cooks from renowned publication Taste of Home compiled a list of the best small-town restaurant in each US state.
With Alabama’s vast amount of mouthwatering southern kitchens, there was a lot of competition. Housed in a log cabin and shrouded in a lush forest, The Wildflower Café in Mentone ended up taking the cake.
“This is an enchanting little spot in the small town of Mentone. The Wildflower Café is housed in an old log cabin and surrounded by twining vines and forest. Their menu combines fresh flavors and homestyle cooking in dishes like Tomato Pie and Polenta Shrimp & Grits.”
Nancy Mook, from “The Best Small-Town Restaurants Across America” in Taste of Home“
