Reading time: 3 minutes

The final day of the 2025 NFL Draft saw multiple players with ties to our state quickly taken off the board.
Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter was the first name of the group called when the Los Angeles Rams traded up to take the running back with 117th overall pick.
Later in the fourth round, Alabama had its fourth + fifth players of this year’s draft taken when Malachi Moore and Que Robinson were selected.
Keep reading to learn more about those selections + see what other in-state players were taken in the final four rounds of the draft.
This story will be updated as more selections are made Saturday.
Auburn football
Hunter played four seasons on The Plains, taking the lead running back role over the last two years. During his collegiate career, Hunter racked up:
- 3,371 rushing yards
- 558 receiving yards
- 29 total touchdowns
Auburn has now had at least one player selected in 22 consecutive drafts, its second longest streak in program history. The Auburn record is 26 straight drafts from 1977 to 2002.
Hunter joins a crowded running back room in Los Angeles that is led by Kyren Williams + Blake Corum. However, the team is known for giving quick playing time for new running backs with three different rushing leaders over the last four years.
He is the first Auburn player drafted by the Rams since fellow running back Tre Mason was selected in 2014.
Other Auburn players drafted this year included:
- KeAndre Lambert-Smith, WR | Los Angeles Chargers | 158th overall
- Jalen McLeod, LB | Jacksonville Jaguars | 194th overall
Alabama football
Two more Alabama players were selected in the fourth round Saturday, both of them from the defensive side of the ball.
After five seasons with the Crimson Tide, team captain Malachi Moore was selected by the New York Jets with the 130th overall pick. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Moore racked up 7 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.
Just four picks later, defensive end Que Robinson was drafted by the Denver Broncos.
The Crimson Tide had more players selected in the final three rounds including:
- Robbie Ouzts, TE | Seattle Seahawks | 175th overall
- Tim Smith, DT | Indianapolis Colts | 190th overall
Alabama had seven total players drafted this season, tying the program’s lowest total since for a single draft since 2011.
Alabama in the NFL Draft
It wasn’t just the SEC schools that represented our state during this year’s draft.
Early in the fifth round, the Baltimore Ravens selected Alabama A&M offensive lineman Carson Vinson with the 141st overall pick. Vinson becomes the 17th Bulldog ever taken in the NFL Draft + first since 2011.
Former Fairhope two-sport star Riley Leonard was taken in the sixth round with the 189th overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts. He was the ninth quarterback taken in this year’s draft.
Tez Johnson, who went to high school at Pinson Valley and started his collegiate career at Troy, was selected 235th overall.
