Troy beats No. 8 Florida to secure first Super Regional appearance

For the first time in program history, the Troy baseball team is headed to the NCAA Super Regional round after winning the Gainesville Regional.
The Trojans lost their opening game but reeled off four consecutive victories including two wins over No. 8 Florida in the regional final. Troy took down the Gators 10-2 to win the regional Monday night.
Troy advances as one of the final 16 teams competing for the national championship.
The Trojans will take on Little Rock in a best-of-3 series with the winner securing a debut appearance in Omaha for the Men’s College World Series. Troy is expected to host the series.

Troy earned one of the final at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, making its ninth all-time appearance and first since 2023. The Trojans had regular season wins over three regional hosts including No. 3 Georgia, No. 7 Alabama and No. 9 Southern Miss.
This was also Troy’s first ever appearance in a regional final. The Trojans scored a postseason-high 16 runs Sunday to avoid elimination and force a winner-take-all game Monday night in Gainesville.
Troy becomes the second team from the state to secure a spot in the super regional round behind Alabama. Auburn could join the group by beating Milwaukee on Monday night.
