Earlier this summer, we told you about a pair of Alabama hospitals that were up for some national recognition but they needed your help.

And you delivered.

After 1.4 million votes were cast in Soliant’s competition, Southeast Health in Dothan and UAB Medicine in Birmingham made the cut as two of the 20 most beautiful hospitals in the country.

Keep reading to find out where each hospital landed on the final list + what Soliant had to say about both.

Southeast Health | Dothan

After a slow start, Southeast Health shot up the list and earned 241,233 votes during the competition. That was enough to put them in second place on the list of more than 80 nominated hospitals.

Southeast Health is a general medical and surgical facility rated high-performing in five adult procedures and conditions, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Soliant noted the building’s soaring four-story windows at the main entrance with natural light and rock columns.

UAB Hospital | Birmingham

On July 20, UAB sat outside of the top 20 with less than two weeks to go in the competition but Birmingham voters stepped up to get the prestigious hospital on the list.

UAB finished with 10,865 votes, landing at #18 in the rankings.

The hospital in Southside Birmingham is a major center for clinical research and home of some of the top medical programs in the country. The 1,207-bed facility is among the 20 largest in the country.
