Two new ALDI stores set grand opening dates in Alabama

Since acquiring Southeastern Grocers + Winn-Dixie locations in 2023, ALDI has continued to expand its foothold in Alabama with 49 locations currently open.
That number is set to grow even more before the end of the year with three locations soon to open, including two with grand opening dates already set for later this month.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Tuscaloosa | 9750 Highway 69 South | Thursday, Sep. 18
- Rainbow City | 3331 Rainbow Drive | Thursday, Sep. 25
- Selma | 1952 West Dallas Avenue | TBA

ALDI grand openings
There are already three ALDI locations in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area but the newest one will be the furthest south store, featured near Shelton State Community College.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow City location will be the second store in the Gadsden area.
Both stores will host a “sneak peek” event for shoppers on the Wednesday before their grand opening events with fully-stocked shelves and items.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday. The Tuscaloosa one starts at 9AM on Sep. 18 while the Rainbow City one starts at 8:30AM on Sep. 25.
The first 100 customers on the will receive a goodie bag plus a Golden Ticket that could be worth up to $100. There will also be free ALDI tote bags available while supplies last.
