Montgomery welcomed two new hot chicken joints last week.

Birmingham-based Eugene’s Hot Chicken officially opened their doors in downtown Montgomery on October 15. Meanwhile, two days later, the national chain Dave’s Hot Chicken, opened its second location in Alabama on the east side of town on October 17.

Below are the two new spots for “Hot Chicken” aficionados:

  • Eugene’s: 79 Commerce St. Unit 1, Montgomery, Alabama
  • Dave’s: 7413 Eastchase Parkway, Montgomery, Alabama

Both restaurants have stellar reputations for bringing the heat.

Eugene’s Hot Chicken: A popular Magic City institution, has been featured on the Food Network and received multiple culinary accolades ranging from FabCrunch to Alabama Retailer of the Year. How hot is Eugene’s? Check out our sister site’s video on the legendary restaurant.

Dave’s Hot Chicken: California-based Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first location in Vestavia Hills back in November 2024. Known for its variety – Dave’s offers a  “No spice” option for folks who are not fans of hot chicken and the “reaper” for the customers  looking for chicken so hot they must sign a waiver (no kidding) to consume it.
