The U.S. Space & Rocket Center announced this week that it’s CEO, Dr. Kimberly Robinson, has announced her retirement.
Robinson took over the positions in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and was able to bring the USSRC out of uncertain times, and has brought about several positive changes during her tenure.
Robinson steps down, but leaves USSRC in good shape

After the pandemic, the USSRC faced potential bankruptcy and permanent closure. So when Robinson took over as CEO, she had a tough road ahead. Under her guidance, the center underwent a strategic realignment that not only stabilized operations but led to record-breaking revenues.
Since Johnson became CEO, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center launched a successful $65 million capital campaign that enabled transformative investments, including the completion of two major facilities: the Space Camp Operations Center, which opened in May 2023, and the I⁴ Skills Training Complex, scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
“I am deeply grateful for the privilege of serving this extraordinary institution. This success is shared with the dedicated employees, volunteers, docents, partners, and donors whose passion and support have made this journey possible.”
