UNA celebrates “topping out” for new multi-purpose stadium

A construction milestone was celebrated recently at the University of North Alabama for the new Bank Independent Stadium, a multi-purpose stadium set to open next year.
The “topping out” ceremony celebrated the final beam placed atop the structure.
What to look forward to with Bank Independent Stadium
The new stadium is set to cost around $65 million when all is said and done. The goal is to complete the stadium for the 2026 football season.
Bank Independent Stadium is set to include:
- Turf field
- Track
- 10,000 fan capacity
- Suites + stadium club
Football, baseball, and soccer are expected to play inside the multi-purpose stadium, along with other events like concerts and conventions.
