But the outdoor fitness courts popping up across Alabama are free and allow you to get a full-body workout in as little as seven minutes. They’ve quickly grown across the state, and by the end of 2026, there will be over 30 fitness courts in Alabama parks and at college and high school campuses.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and the National Fitness Campaign designed fitness courts that provide free access to workouts and ensure equitable exercise opportunities for all communities.

Each fitness court boasts seven exercise stations that encourage you to use your body weight and get a complete workout. Here are some quick facts to know before you visit:

  • Fitness courts are designed for all fitness levels + abilities
  • Guests must be ages 14+
  • Download the free Fitness Court App to enhance your experience

At these free fitness courts, you can work on the following exercise movements:

  • Agility
  • Bend
  • Core
  • Lunge
  • Pull
  • Push
  • Squat
