Great news for Albertville (and all of Sand Mountain): the Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater has completed construction. After a year, the park is now open.

An Exciting Arrival

The Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater will add some excitement to the Albertville area, as it is one of the largest parks and rec centers in the area. Furthermore, the park is expected to add an annual $120 million to the local economy.

The park is 135 acres of trails, recreational facilities, sports facilities, and more. Highlights include a 7,500-person amphitheater, dog parks, 14 sports fields, indoor and outdoor competition pools, and an RV park. Other great amenities include a two-story fitness center, cafe, and an outdoor water park that means fun for the whole family.

The Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater, with its spacious facilities, also hosts a myriad of fitness classes and rec leagues for all ages. Some of these classes include aquatic fitness, 5k Training, and spin cycling. Basketball rec leagues for youth and adults are currently ongoing.

The Park has not just affected the Sand Mountain area, since Birmingham construction firm HPM built the project. Caleb Camp, the firm’s project manager told the Birmingham Business Journal:

“Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater will be an economic driving force that will turn Albertville into a family destination for the entire region, and provides a place for both children and adults to have fun and stay active. Whether it was finding new avenues for optimizing performance of the park’s sprawling utility network, or collaborating with the owner and contractors on change orders that would increase overall efficiency and keep things moving, the project partners rose to every challenge.”
