We’ve rounded up a list of three recent movies and their shooting locations that you can visit today.
1. Get Out (2017)
The disturbingly twisted film directed by Jordan Peele was mostly filmed in Fairhope, but Mobile still makes some appearances.
The opening scene, in which a Black man is abducted, was filmed on Ryan Avenue and De Leon Avenue, a small neighborhood intersection right off Old Shell Road.
The scene, better known as “the basement scene,” where Chris wakes up strapped to a chair, was filmed at Barton Academy For Advanced World Studies.

- Location B | Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies 504 Government St, Mobile, Al
2. Gerald’s Game (2017)
Gerald’s Game, the film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1992 novel, can be considered a Mobile gem. Producer Scott Lumpkin said that at least 85-90% of the film was shot inside the Mobile Civic center.
The film also had Stephen King’s official stamp of approval.
- Location | Mobile Civic Center 401 Civic Center Dr, Mobile, Al
