Did you know that four of the highest-paid college football players in America are in Saturday’s game with the Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns? Name, image and likeness (NIL) deals have been revolutionizing college football. As you could’ve guessed, the Alabama Crimson Tide has some of the most lucrative NIL deals in the business. Let’s look at the top NIL deals for players in Saturday’s matchup.

What is a NIL?

NIL deals have been taking college sports by storm. Star college football players have a huge social media influence, some with follower counts in the millions. With NIL deals, brands have been flocking to pay athletes for being successful at their sport.

According to the Pro Football Network, NIL does not currently have a central regulatory system, making the exact value for even the biggest deals a bit of a mystery. They report that even Nick Saban couldn’t put a figure on star quarterback Bryce Young’s earnings from his NIL deals.

However, using data from On3.com, the Pro Football Network compiled a list of the top 10 most valuable college football players according to their estimated NIL value.

In Saturday’s matchup between Alabama and Texas, four players rank in the top 10 for most valuable college football players in America.
