Will Montgomery local Lady K be the next American Idol? Only time will tell. For now, we can look forward to seeing her wow the judges at her audition on Sunday, March 6. Keep reading for more on the aspiring star + find out how to tune in.
A shot at stardom 🌟
At this point, you’ve at least heard of the popular singing competition, American Idol. Since its inception in 2002, the show has produced household names like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and many more.
At the audition, contestants perform a song of their choice in front of a panel of famous judges—Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie are taking the seats this year. If the judges love the performance, the contestant gets to hear the famous line: “You’re going to Hollywood!”
This year, they’re introducing a twist. Three auditions will receive a platinum ticket, allowing them to bypass the first round of Hollywood performances—a major elimination round for contestants.
Fingers crossed for Lady K to snag the special ticket!
Not her first rodeo 🎤
Kezia Istonia, who goes by the stage name Lady K, is a Montgomery native with plenty of singing experience under her belt.
She has released three R&B albums, “Letter from Lady K” (2015), “Unfinished Love Story” (2018) and “K” (2020).
It only takes one listen to her music to hear that she has star potential. Let’s see what the judges think this Sunday!
Alabama representation 🙌
Kezia isn’t the only Alabamian taking on the American Idol auditions this season:
- Tyler N. Allen from Mobile
- Tristen Gressett from Pell City
- and Cadence Baker from Muscle Shoals
We’re looking forward to seeing them try their shot at stardom.
