Reading time: 2 minutes

Several locations across south Alabama were used for filming the latest movie adaptation of a Stephen King story back in 2024. Now, we’re getting a first look for at least one location used.
The Life of Chuck which is scheduled to release June 6, has dropped its first teaser trailer and a popular spot in Foley made the cut for the preview.
A main section of the OWA Downtown is featured near the end of the 72-second trailer. If you look closely, you can see the sign for the popular Alvin’s Island tropical store.
Take a look for yourself to see if you recognize the area!

Back in 2023, the movie asked the area for extras before they started filming around Mobile and Baldwin County. You’ll likely see other locations from around the area in the full movie.
You may not get horror vibes from this teaser but there can still be some thriller + mystery vibes from the storytelling alone. The story itself is one of four novellas from Stephen King’s “If It Bleeds” collection.
“The Life of Chuck is three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumour at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.”

The cast includes Tom Hiddleston, who plays an older Charles Krantz, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan and Jacob Tremblay.
The Life of Chuck has already gotten great reviews after being released at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024. The film won the festival’s People’s Choice Award, defeating Emilia Perez and Anora, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
So expectations for this movie are sky high. Make sure to circle your calendar for the June 6, 2025 release date.
