Weird but beautiful: Alabama sees rare snow on the beach
Reading time: 2 minutes

Snow on the beach is apparently more than just the title of a Taylor Swift song. But she did describe it pretty well when she said “weird but f****** beautiful.”
The Alabama coast saw historic levels of snowfall Tuesday and it covered the sand beaches in the Gulf.
The City of Orange Beach posted to its social media pages Tuesday afternoon, giving us a look at the beach + other areas around town. Take a look for yourself.

That’s the theme across the southern third of Alabama.
Gulf Shores was expected to get anywhere from four to six inches of snow throughout the day and their beaches were also covered by Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Mobile posted its official recording was 5.4 inches of accumulation in the city, breaking the city’s record of snowfall for a single day. That record was previously five inches, which was set in 1881.
The snow is expected to continue to fall throughout Tuesday night, moving across the southeast portion of Alabama before leaving the state in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
