Wetumpka native, UA graduate named new Miss New York

Less than three months after being named the second runner up at the 2025 Miss New York pageant, Lauren Norris has found herself with the crown.
Norris, who grew up in Wetumpka and graduated from the University of Alabama, officially got the title last week after Miss New York was crowned Miss America, leaving the state crown vacant.
Although she is already a full-time YouTuber and social media influencer, Norris’s next year will look a little different as she takes on the duties of Miss New York. And she’s hoping her followers stay with her through the journey.
“I built my brand on the quote ‘be the girl that just went for it’ by paving my own path (no matter how different it looked from others). Thank you for being here through every big life event. Let’s do this next adventure together.”

Lauren Norris
Lauren Norris competed in pageants when she was in Alabama including being named Miss Central Alabama + competing in Miss Alabama USA in 2019.
She was also named USA National Miss Alabama in 2023.
Norris graduated from Prattville Christian Academy but called Wetumpka home, often returning and showing her social media followers some of her favorite spots in the area. She also still has a P.O. Box in town for fan mail.

Norris recently moved to New York to continue to be a full-time influencer but also continued to compete in pageants.
Norris finished as the second runner-up in the Miss New York pageant earlier this year with Mina Liang originally earning the crown. However, she resigned from the title which sent first-runner up Cassie Donegan to Florida to represent the state at Miss America.
Donegan was then crowned Miss America which elevated Norris into the title of Miss New York.
