The 127 Yard Sale—commonly known as ‘The World’s Longest Yard Sale’—covers more than 600 miles across six different states, including some spots in the northeast corner of Alabama.

After some spots were impacted by storm damage last year, The World’s Longest Yard Sale is returning for another year. Vendors will be set up from Michigan to Gadsden, waiting on shoppers to stop in and find a new treasure.

127 Yard Sale

The event was originally created in 1987 by Mike Walker in Jamestown, Tennessee. The sale was supposed to encourage people to get off the interstate and explore smaller towns in the region.

Now, the sale has grown to 690 miles across six different states including:

  • Michigan
  • Ohio
  • Kentucky
  • Tennessee
  • Georgia
  • Alabama

It was named after Highway 127 but that road technically ends in Chattanooga. A few years after it was created, the sale extended into Georgia + Alabama through Lookout Mountain Parkway which leaves Chattanooga as TN-148 and becomes several different highway numbers before reaching Gadsden.

Here’s what you need to know:

How to be a vendor

There is still time to claim your spot along the route if you’re looking to sell some of your own things. Vendor spots can be rented along the route in spots in Gadsden and Fort Payne.

The event says anyone can be a vendor by simply having a yard sale in their yard, at their business, or setting up in a designated vendor space.

You can book your spot on the 127 Yard Sale website.
