What’s closed on President’s Day?
Since the New York Stock Exchange closes each year on President’s Day, a lot of banks, municipal courts and government administration will also be closed.
Here’s a completed list of what will be closed in Alabama.
- U.S. Post Offices will be closed, and no mail service will run—except for Priority Mail Express.
- Public Schools will be closed.
- Garbage collection will take place on the following day, depending on local + county governments.
- Many police offices: Leeds, Gordo and Jefferson County will be closed
- Most public schools will be closed
What’s open on President’s Day?
You can always count on some common staples to be open, including most food delivery services, like DoorDash and Uber Eats. Here are some more things open:
- Most grocery stores: Walmart, Winn Dixie, The Fresh Market and Piggly Wiggly
- Pharmacies
- Most fast food and chain restaurants will be open
- UPS and FedEx
- Large malls
