The qualifying period for statewide candidates ended last week on January 28th.

So, who’s running? Here are the details.

First, offices from the governor to the Public Service Commission are up for grabs in 2022. Every seat in the State Senate and State House of Representatives is also open.

The marquee statewide races this year are the most competitive. There are 14 candidates, including Governor Kay Ivey, running for the state’s chief executive position, while the most hotly contested race is for U.S. Senate, and chance to replace retiring U.S. Senator Richard Shelby.
