Since 2023, Mobile has been home to Wingman Brewing, a temporary taproom for Fairhope Brewing Company.

But after a successful stint, Fairhope has decided to make the location its second permanent taproom less than 20 miles north from its original location.

“We have extended our original 18-month lease on Saint Louis Street and we’re going to be around for years to come! Knowing that we’ll be around for a while, we are also rebranding this facility as Fairhope Brewing Company, and making some investments to create a more perfect atmosphere to serve the downtown community.”

The Mobile taproom is expected to close Aug. 11 for roughly a week to make improvements inside and complete the rebrand at the building.

What began as a limited-time experiment to test new varieties of beer has become a permanent fixture, thanks to an overwhelmingly positive response from craft beer lovers across the Bay.

This marks the first new permanent taproom for Fairhope Brewing Company since opening its flagship brewery and tasting room in Fairhope in 2013.

“Honestly, we didn’t know how this was going to go… The pop-up really gave us the chance to test the market while also experimenting with dozens of different varieties. The success of this second location definitely makes it seem possible for us to grow into other Gulf Coast cities where Fairhope beers are so popular.”

Brian Kane, Managing Partner at Fairhope Brewing Company

Wingman Brewing will close for a taproom redesign aimed at creating an even better customer experience—think more comfortable seating and a layout that invites a true neighborhood, lounge-style vibe.

The refreshed space will reopen as Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile. Guests can expect the same creative, high-quality craft beer lineup, plus more community-focused hangout space perfect for locals and visitors.

“We’re really excited about the private event spaces available at this location. We’ve hosted everything from weddings to corporate events and look forward to expanding that service.”

New beer release

Fairhope Brewing Company, Mobile will also continue its tradition of creative, locally inspired brews.

With the new Amtrak service launching between Mobile and New Orleans, the brewery is marking the occasion with a special new flagship IPA.

Inspired by Fairhope Brewing’s top-selling Take the Causeway IPA, the Mobile location will release its own Take the Railway IPA on August 18, the same day the new rail service begins.
