Winter storm breaks 130-year-old snowfall record in Mobile [PHOTOS]

While snow continues to fall along the Alabama coast, the National Weather Service has already confirmed this has been a historic day for the City of Mobile.
The NWS officially recorded 6.2 inches of snow at the Mobile Regional Airport, setting a new record for the city. It’s final tally of the night came in at 7.5 inches of snow.
That total breaks the previous daily snowfall record of 5 inches set in 1881 and the total snow event record of 6 inches set in 1895.
