The Wiregrass Innovation Center got to celebrate its official opening this week as local and state leaders flocked to downtown Dothan for the event.

A crowd gathered Monday morning outside at the Carver Research Campus across from the Dothan Civic Center. The project hopes to be a facilitator for scientific research, local entrepreneurship and collaborative education experiences for local communities.

This is designed to bring people together where ideas grow into real-world solutions that shape the future of our region.”

The 45,000-square foot hub will include:

  • State-of-the-art wet labs
  • Flexible office space
  • Collaborative areas
  • Shared equipment

The goal of the Innovation Center is to assist local start up companies through resources, outreach and collaboration.
