We stopped by Athens to check out one of their new additions to downtown, Irons & Ales. This trendy golf bar recently opened just off the square in downtown Athens.

Irons & Ales
Irons & Ales recently opened its doors to the public on June 22nd. This state-of-the-art indoor golf facility moved into an iconic Athens building, the old Sunbeam Bread Factory.
The owners, Ryan and Renee Gilroy, and Michelle Lacrosse-Yawney, moved to Athens from Connecticut and Arizona. They fell in love with the charm of small town Athens and decided that it was the perfect place to open up Irons & Ales.

Indoor Golf and multi-sport simulator
Irons & Ales offers four state-of-the-art golf and multi-sport simulators. The simulators offer many different sports and games, with the most popular being golf. This is a golfer’s personal heaven with an impressive list of some of the most iconic golf courses across the world available to play.
If golf is not your cup of TEE, there are multiple other sports and games available to virtually play including:

- Baseball
- Cornhole
- Football
- And more!
Lounge and bar area
Not in the mood for virtual sports? Don’t worry, Irons & Ales has a bar and lounge area featuring a few other games like foosball, darts, connect 4, and more. Their bar includes food and drink such as beer, wine and an assortment of bar food.
The bar and lounge area is the perfect place to hang out and wait on your reservation or just stop in to grab a drink and hang out.
